Deniz is an active soloist, chamber musician and educator currently based in Melbourne, Australia. Her cultural background as a Turkish-Australian and her passion for foreign languages, ethnomusicology and historical performance practice allows her to connect diverse pieces in a single programme.

Deniz had the privilege of studying with Perth's renowned teacher Dr John Casey prior to moving to Melbourne, where she completed her performance studies at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music studying with Daniel McKay (Guitar Trek, Melbourne Guitar Quartet). She also received tuition in ensemble skills from guitarist-composer Dr Ken Murray and Historical Performance Practice from Dr Donald Nicholson. In addition to her music studies she is an avid learner of foreign languages, currently completing diplomas in Russian and German.

Deniz performed at some of Australia’s major venues. Her performance highlights include solo and chamber recitals in Melba Hall, Montsalvat Artists Colony, Government House of Victoria and Perth Government House amongst others.

As a member of the guitar ensemble, 'Guitarstrophe!', in her youth she also toured Australia, the UK and New Zealand in recitals and festivals.
